Food Lover's Paris
This tour is an extension of the Pulse of Paris
tour. Eat your way through the best of Paris food plus hands-on cooking classes, glorious meals and wine and food samplings.
Choose one or two days; costs for each day are outlined below. Feel
free to pick and choose what you want to do on Day 2. Other “secret” places can be
added. For example, a butcher store that reminds its patrons of a jewelry
store.
Day 1
We cover two major food areas:
1. 6th arrondissement and a
lively street market and:
- Bread and patisseries: two outstanding patisseries plus what may be
the best bread
- The best of French chocolate
- Bon Marche food hall
- Lunch at a tiny extension of a famed fromagerie
- Olive oil tastes
- Berthillon ice cream
2. 1st arrondissement around the Madeline
- Fauchon
- Hediard
- Caviar Kaspia…my favorite indulgence: caviar, vodka and wild salmon
- A store that just sells mustard
- My favorite "just honey" store
- Dinner at a bistro
Cost for Day 1: Our service fee for Day 1 is $350. We will be your
guide throughout the day. All other costs (tastings, meals, coffee stops,
transportation by taxi or Metro, hotel, and so on) are additional and you pay them directly.
If more than one person signs up for Day 1, the service fee will be reduced.
Day 2
Morning or evening cooking class (about 100 euros).
Fabulous Lunch: Choose from the 2-star Jamin or Joel Robluchon’s restaurant or
restaurant at Meurice Hotel (around $100 with one glass of wine). You will
receive extraordinary service at each of these restaurants. Dining in a
top French restaurant, you will fell pampered and, what's more, you will love
the feeling.
Also available:
- Wine tasting (cost depends on what tastings are available when you book)
- L’Ecole du The: tea tasting (from 16 to 32 euros)
Cost for Day 2: Our service fee for booking Day 2 for you is $100.
You don't need us on Day
2, but if you would prefer our company, ask for our fee to accompany you. All
other costs (tastings, meals, coffee stops, transportation by taxi or Metro, hotel, and so on)
are additional and you pay them directly.
Hotel and Breakfast Option
Hotel for one or two nights: 140 euros per night plus 11 euros for breakfast.
Less expensive hotels are also available.
If you yearn for an authentic American breakfast, there is a place to have one
in Paris run by an American. I order the "Deuces Wild" breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon,
2 pancakes and toast.
No apologies, I love a big breakfast.
